About the artist
Jun Funahashi is the founder of and chief designer for feathe. Begun in 2003, Jun's vision saw feathe make an immediate impression on design, fashion, and pop culture with her hand-made leatherwork. Word of Jun's talent quickly spread, catching the eyes of icon Lenny Kravitz who wore her jewelry for his performance. The international art community was also taken with Jun's work: Her one-of-a-kind turquoise shawl and alligator wristband were signature pieces in New York's Museum at The Fashion Institute of Technology 2006 exhibition "Love and War" and her macramé crystal wristband was selected for display by The Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 2007. All feathe pieces are made by hand. Using materials such as all-natural crystals, semi-precious stones, and silver, Jun hand-selects each individual element of her jewelry. When not creating her pieces for feathe, Jun can often be found searching for unique and special crystals and minerals in Brazil, India, Arizona, the Caribbean, and Europe, always with an eye for the beauty in nature.
